Lateral Entry Master’s Degree

Lateral entry into master’s degree after PG Diploma is possible, allowing you to start directly in the second year (3rd semester) of programs such as MBA, M.Com, M.A, M.Sc, or MCA by receiving credit for your PG diploma, often reducing the master’s duration to one year; eligibility is heavily dependent on the university and specific PG Diploma (such as PGDBM for MBA). Students having postgraduate diploma from UGC-recognized university are eligible for lateral admission. Students pursuing master’s Degree through lateral entry will be charged fees for one year as per the curriculum.

Lateral entry after a diploma allows you to immediately enter the second year (third semester) of a bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, BCA), saving you a year by recognizing your diploma credits. Relevant diploma streams are required for bachelor’s degree programs. The application process includes determining eligibility, applying through university portals or counseling, and providing diploma certificates. Admission directly into the second year (or third semester) of a bachelor’s program. Benefits: Reduces degree duration by one year, recognizes previous learning, and allows for employment advancement.
