Having been one of the oldest and awarded a 'A++' grade by the NAAC, Andhra University has a reputation for academic brilliance around the world. In 1926, Andhra University was established by the Madras Act of 1926. The 97-year-old university is lucky to have Sir C.R. Reddy as its founding vice-chancellor because the actions taken by this trailblazer ultimately paid off. One of the first establishments in the field of higher education was the University's Center for Distance & Online Education (CDOE), which was founded in 1972. It has been making an effort to bring higher education to a wider range of social groups residing in various geographic locations, especially in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
